School teacher dies after riding fall

A school teacher in South Carolina has died after a riding accident.

Pamela Tucker Scott , 63, an English teacher at Liberty High School, died on Thursday following the accident  in Anderson County.

It is understood she was training for a horse show when her mount slipped. Scott was unseated and landed on her head and neck. She was reported to be wearing a helmet.

She was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where she died.

“Pam touched all of us in many ways,” Liberty High School principal Lori Gwinn said.

“She began her career in our district at Gettys Middle School and came to Liberty High School about 10 years ago,” Gwinn said.

“She had made plans to retire at the end of this school year and was looking forward to many adventures.

“She will be missed dearly.

“We are keeping the Scott family and the Liberty High family in our thoughts and prayers.”
