Actress Kristen Stewart has told Jay Leno how she broke and dislocated her elbow in her first attempt at riding a horse when she was young.
Stewart was appearing on Leno’s “The Tonight Show” to talk about her upcoming movie, “Snow White and the Huntsman”, due in US theaters on June 1.
Leno noted that Stewart rode horses in the movie and asked the “Twilight” star if she had ridden horses previously.
Stewart replied: “I rode once. I hurt myself, though.”
Asked what happened, she said: “I fell off of it and hurt myself. I broke and dislocated my elbow.”
Stewart overcame her riding concerns to take on the role, but not without some angst.
“I wanted this so much and I did this thing that you ignore those little voices in your head when you’re like, ‘You don’t have to ride a horse dude, what are you thinking?’ ”
Riding was the last hurdle for her in getting the role, but ride she did.
She told Letterman her biggest issue with riding in the movie was the assertive riding style required. She said she preferred the laid-back approach and would rather have fed them apples.
