Leading equestrian trade fair BETA International has named World Horse Welfare as its chosen charity for 2013.
BETA will raise awareness of World Horse Welfare’s work throughout the show’s three days at the NEC, Birmingham, from 17 to 19 February.
“World Horse Welfare is highly regarded by all members of the equestrian industry,” said Claire Thomas, commercial manager of Equestrian Management Consultants (EMC), organiser of BETA International.
“Its campaign to halt long-distance transportation of horses for slaughter in Europe and its reputation in the field of equine rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing are issues close to everyone’s heart and I am extremely pleased to welcome World Horse Welfare to the show.”
John Blake, the charity’s director of fundraising, adds: “We are delighted to be nominated as the official charity for BETA International 2013. We are looking forward to working alongside the organising team of this highly successful trade exhibition as we seek to promote our work helping thousands of horses in the UK and overseas.”
BETA International is a wholly owned subsidiary of the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA)
