Unbeaten racemare Black Caviar easily prevailed over eight other horses in a surprise appearance at Caulfield yesterday, in an 800m jumpout.
She is pictured in the video with her rider in red.
Running from the outside, Black Caviar took command of the field at the turn, and crossed the wire several lengths in front.
“It was just a soft half-mile jump-out and I’m very happy with her,” trainer Peter Moody said. “It was a great opportunity to have a little trip away on a great surface.”
It was her first racetrack appearance since winning the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot last June.
“Nelly” will also gallop in between races on February 2 on her home track of Caulfield on the Club’s National Jockeys’ Trust race day.
She is scheduled to return to racing in the $500,000 Group 1 Lightning Stakes at Flemington on February 16. The race has been renamed the Black Caviar Lightning Stakes in her honour.
