Britain has named a squad of nine eventing riders to represent the country during the FEI Nations Cup Series.

The British Eventing Senior Selection Committee said the primary objective of the named squad was to give riders who do not have a depth of senior team experience the opportunity to compete in a team environment.

The squad of nine is:
Sarah Bullimore
Laura Collett
Kitty King
Emily Llewellyn
Tom McEwen
Gemma Tattersall
Izzy Taylor
Francis Whittington
Lucy Wiegersma

Of the nine, a team of four (with a travelling reserve), will be selected by the Team Manager, Philip Surl, in consultation with the Performance Manager, Yogi Breisner, to represent Great Britain in the CIC0 3* events at Fontainebleau (France, March 21-24), Houghton Hall (GB, May 23-25), Strzegom (Poland, May 30-June 2), Aachen (Germany, June 25-30), Montelibretti (Italy, September 21-23), Waregem (Belgium, September 26-29) and Boekelo (The Netherlands, October 11-14).

The team for the first Nations Cup competition at Fontainebleau will be (in alphabetical order):

  • Kitty King with Zidante owned by Mr Ben Walden
  • Emily Llewellyn with Pardon Me II owned by Mrs Cindy Llewellyn
  • Gemma Tattersall with Arctic Soul owned by Mr Phillip Kerr & Miss Iona Kerr
  • Izzy Taylor with KBIS Starchaser owned by Mrs Jo Meyer & KBIS

Laura Collett riding Allora 3, owned by Mr Phillip Walker, is reserve.

The FEI Nations Cup Eventing Series was first trialed in 2012. Open to all nations, at CIO3* level, all teams will be composed of 3 or 4 riders from the same nation, with the best 3 results from each team counting towards the final team classification.
