Britain’s Kitty King and Zidante lead the CCI3* class at the Saumur three-day-event in France going into Saturday’s cross-country phase.
King and Zidante put up a score of 41.8 penalties, to put them at the top of the field ahead of Australia’s Bill Levett and Shannondale Titan with 42.6 and home-country hero Nicholas Touzaint and Lesbos in third with 42.6.
New Zealander Tim Price is in fourth with Wesko with 44.0, and is also 18th with Ringwood Sky Boy (52.6). Compatriot Andrew Nicholson is further down the rankings, currently in 23rd with Viscount George (53.80) and in 37th in Sintra BK (61.00).
US riders are all in good positions in the top 20, with Will Faudree and Andromaque the best in eighth place with 47.80.
Fabrice Lucas leads in the CIC2*division on Mistral de Texes (43.10), with compatriot Thibaut Valette and Qing du Briot second on 43.80, equal with Andrew Nicholson on Rathmoyle King. Nicholson is also in 40th with Ulises on 54.10.
