Woman in riding gear assaults motorist – police

stock-eyeA female motorist in Wales was assaulted after stopping to offer help to another woman trying to retrieve a loose horse, according to police.

The incident happened about 6.50pm on Wednesday, August 14, Gwent Police said.

The 47-year-old woman from Cwmbran was approaching the crematorium roundabout on the A4042 when she became aware that a horse had bolted out of a nearby field and had run across the road.

“A woman – dressed in full riding gear – was trying to catch the horse,” a police spokesperson said.

“The victim got out of her car and offered to help but was assaulted by the woman. The victim received minor injuries.”

Anyone with information, specifically other members of the public who were in the area at the time, are asked to call Gwent Police on 101 and quote log number 381 14/8/13.
