A racehorse in New York has proved to be in pretty good shape, galloping 10 blocks through a Long Island community with police trailing behind.
The 40-minute chase on Friday ended with the gelding, named Ambassador Bridge, being safety recaptured.
Ambassador Bridge, 7, was being trained on a field with several other horses near the main Belmont track around 9am when he unseated his rider and made off, exiting through Gate 8.
He ran down Plainfield Avenue on to Floral Parkway.
Police trailed the horse and erected two road blocks, which Ambassador Bridge managed to evade, before deputies were successful on the third attempt, but more because the horse was tiring and about ready to return to his stable.
