A motorcyclist has died in New South Wales, Australia, in a collision with a horse.
His pillion passenger received serious head injuries and was airlifted to Westmead Hospital.
The 56-year-old rider, reported to be from Penrith, was declared dead at the accident scene, near Blayney, on Tuesday night.
New South Wales police said the pair were travelling east on the Mid Western Highway at Lyndhurst when their bike hit an unaccompanied horse on the road.
The horse was euthanized at the scene.
The highway was closed for three hours.
Police from Chifley Local Area Command are investigating the incident.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner
