A one-eyed horse has been rescued from a river by British firefighters.ruby-rescue-3

The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service answered the call after Ruby, 21, fell into the River Irwell, near Bolton, Lancashire, while on an outing with her rider.

It took 10 firefighters an hour to secure Ruby’s freedom.

Ruby was placed in a harness and hauled to the river bank.

After recovering for a short while, she was able to walk back to her stable.

She was checked over by a veterinarian and found to be uninjured.
