New Zealand police are working to establish what caused the death of a woman whose body was found in a Hawke’s Bay horse pasture on Thursday afternoon.
Police said the cause of the death of Camille Reremoana Ferris, 53, of Gisborne, remained unexplained. Her body was found by a horse rider.
Detective Sergeant Darren Pritchard said her body was removed from the Flaxmere paddock on Friday afternoon, with a post mortem examination scheduled for Monday.
Pritchard said there remained a lot of work to be done to establish the cause of death.
Police were unable to confirm if the death was suspicious or otherwise until after the post mortem, he said.
