Hypothermic pony hauled from British stream

eye-stockA hypothermic pony has been rescued from a stream in Britain by firefighters.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue were called to the stream in Yarnscombe, Barnstaple, shortly before lunchtime on Monday.

Appliances from Torrington and South Molton, as well as the specialist rescue team from Barnstaple, were mobilised to help the pony.

The pony was sedated before being hauled free.

The crews used rescue equipment and small tools, assisted by a farmer with a telehandler.
