Dressage’s golden girl Charlotte Dujardin is taking her star horse Valegro to the World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen this year.
Number one in the world rankings, Dujardin also holds all the major titles in dressage: she is Olympic and European Champion, the World Cup winner, and is the world record holder in freestyle and grand prix.
She is taking Valegro to Germany for Aachen for the first time. The show, from July 11 to 20, also features their arch rivals, Germany’s Helen Langehanenberg with Damon Hill.
The showdown is expected to draw the crowds, but fortunately, the Deutsche Bank Stadium has recently been renovated. “It is a good job that we have just increased the capacity of the stadium by erecting a new stand,” joked Show Director, Frank Kemperman.
There are still tickets available for the Grand Prix, Prize of the Tesch Family and the Lambertz Nations’ Cup on Thursday. Tickets are in short supply for the Meggle Prize, the Grand Prix Special, on Saturday, and the Deutsche Bank Prize, Grand Prix Freestyle on Sunday is almost sold out.
Tickets are available from www.chioaachen.de or by calling +49(0)241-917-1111.
