Equestrian apparel supplier 2kGrey has renamed its black full seat Koko breech in honor of late international eventer RF Smoke on the Water.
Ridden by Marilyn Little to fifth place in the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, Smoke on the Water was euthanized a week later following a freak accident in his stall at their summer base at Raylyn Farms in Maryland.
“We were so sad to hear that Smoke on the Water had tragically died. Our hearts went out to Marilyn, and we wanted to honor the memory of her wonderful horse,” said 2kGrey co-founders Mery Ranzer and Kris Pinto.
The Smoke on the Water stretch denim riding breech features a Toray Ultrasuede full seat, five pockets, a tapered leg and 32” inseam for boots or shoes.
2kGrey began in 2011 when Grand Prix rider and entrepreneur Kris Pinto joined forces with fashion industry veteran Meryl Ranzer to create a chic, sturdy and sophisticated line of riding pants. The line was further refined and performance tested with 2kGrey advisor and professional dressage rider and trainer, Karen Lipp.
