Bees kill two horses in western Texas

Africanized-beeTwo horses are dead after a swarm of bees attacked them in western Texas.

The attack happened on Friday at a property on County Road 242, near Eula, in Callahan County.

Heath Watson had just tied up his horse, and another belonging to his neighbor, when the bees attacked.

Watson had to run into the house to avoid the bees, which completely covered the horses.

He tried desperately to save the horses by trying to encourage them to move away with his truck, but to no avail.

The Callahan County Sheriff’s Office reported that both horses had to be euthanized because of their stings.
