Racehorse welfare summit to be streamed live

racehorse-summitThe fifth Welfare and Safety of the Racehorse Summit which starts later today in the US is to be streamed live to the public.

The summit, on July 8 and 9, runs from 9am to 3.15pm on Tuesday, and 9am to 2.15pm on Wednesday. It is being underwritten and organized by The Jockey Club and Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation, and hosted by the Keeneland Association in the Keeneland Sales Pavilion in Lexington, Kentucky.

The free two-day summit will feature participation from industry leaders including trainer Todd Pletcher, surgeon Dr Larry Bramlage, and owner Bill Casner. Topics include racetrack surface technologies, the status of the modern Thoroughbred, and an update on the National Uniform Medication Program.
