Need a new pair of jodphurs? Why not pop down to your local supermarket?

British supermarket chain Aldi has launched a range of equestrian clothing, said to cost less than half the gear in traditional high street outlets.

Aldi said the range would make it cheaper for riders, young and old, to outfit themselves.

It said a kit comprising a pair of yard boots, polo shirt, a gilet, jodhpurs and riding socks cost under £50 in the new range. It maintains the same five pieces in high street would cost up to £107.95.

Aldi is selling women’s yard boots and jodhpurs for £12.99 apiece while a child’s polo shirt and jodhpurs would cost a total of £12.98.
