Breakages prompt US stirrup leather recall

HDR-leathersA brand of pre-stretched stirrup leathers sold in the US is being recalled after concerns over breakages.

Five models of the affected HDR Pre-stretched leathers, numbering about 1200 units, were sold by several retailers in the US between October 2013 and May 2014, for $30 to $40.

The stirrups are branded with the HDR logo and name “Henri de Rivel”. Importer JPC Equestrian of Drums, Pennsylvania, had received three reports of broken leathers, though no injuries have been reported.

The leathers are made by Ducks N Drakes of Kampur, in India.

Consumers are advised to contact JPC Equestrian toll-free at (866) 273-3243 for returns and refunds.
