Galloping hooves part of rousing WEG soundtrack

open-crowdThe official anthem for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games will be revealed at Saturday night’s Opening Ceremony, and the rousing number will be heard throughout the Games and presentations.

Composers David Grumel and Jeremy Rassat have created an international anthem reminiscent of major sporting events such as the Olympics and the Football World Cup, but with an equestrian twist.

Organisers say the “opening sound of galloping hooves and choirs give the song a unifying and universal character.”

The Opening Ceremony gets under way on Saturday night at the d’Ornano Stadium, in Caen, Normany, and will be broadcast live on FEI TV beginning at 8.30pm Central European Time [6.25am 24 Aug NZT].
